In Meghalaya’s Umroi cantonment, next week the 14th edition of the “Vajra Prahar” exercise is set to bring together India and US special forces. This 21-day bilateral event focuses on Counter-terrorism Operations, Airborne Operations, and Special Operations, split into combat conditioning and tactical training in the first phase, followed by a 48-hour validation in the second phase.

With the previous editions held in Himachal Pradesh and Washington (USA), this collaborative drill not only addresses security challenges but also strengthens the enduring friendship between the Indian and US Special Forces. The exercise aims to foster increased bilateral defense cooperation, highlighting the significance of joint efforts in tackling common threats.

In a broader context, such collaborations extend beyond the borders, as seen in the 19th edition of Exercise Yudh Abhyas in Alaska, USA. The participation of a 350-strong Indian Army contingent in this exercise further underscores the commitment to strengthening military ties and sharing expertise in various strategic areas. These joint endeavors not only enhance the capabilities of the participating forces but also contribute to fostering international cooperation and understanding in addressing global security challenges.
